Symptoms of Rosacea
Left untreated, rosacea progressively gets worse, with the symptoms becoming more pronounced.

Stage 1 — Rosacea may first be noticed as a flushing or blushing that occurs easily and lasts longer than normal.

Stage 2 — The skin becomes irritated and inflamed. Bumps or pimples appear, and you may feel burning or stinging sensations.

Stage 3 — This stage is also called inflammatory rosacea. The redness and bumps continue and last longer. The pores in the face become more noticeable and visible blood vessels may appear.
Lifestyle and Environmental Factors
Symptoms are usually worsened by sun exposure, extreme changes in temperature, wind and eating certain foods, like spicy foods, caffeine and alcohol.

Doctors aren't sure what causes rosacea, but symptoms can be controlled with proper treatment. For a diagnosis, consult your dermatologist. To find a dermatologist near you, use the DermFinder.
